Reverie Brand Concept
The challenge: Create a welcome email sequence for Reverie, an erotic audio storytelling app targeting bookish girls, gays, and theys who crave intelligent, sensual fiction across historical and contemporary settings.
My approach: I developed a 4-email sequence (3 core emails and 1 re-engagement) that transforms newsletter subscribers into trial users. The strategy focuses on building trust and desire before asking for commitment, using a carefully crafted brand voice that balances literary sophistication with inclusive, spicy undertones.
Key elements:
Clear value proposition for newsletter vs. trial signup
Strategic pacing (Day 0, 2, 5, then Day 9 re-engagement)
Female-gaze focused and inclusive language that signals LGBTQ+ content
Atmospheric details that hint at spicy content while remaining email-deliverable
Social proof (testimonials) and founder storytelling to build authentic connection
Optional: Voice narration of emails for accessibility and ease
Visuals: HTML-free emails for accessibility and the impression of personal correspondence with the Reverie founder. Optional millennial & gen-z pop culture gifs
Results focus: Each email has a specific conversion goal, from relationship-building to trial signup, with enhanced offers for hesitant subscribers.

WELCOME & NEWSLETTER PROMISE
Subject line: Your bookish sanctuary has arrived
Preview text: Ancient temples, royal courts, and love stories that see youBody:
Thank you for joining our little corner where bookish folks come to dream.
Your inbox is drowning in promotional emails. So the fact that you chose to hear from us means the world.
I'm Christine, the former publishing strategist who built Reverie because I was tired of choosing between intelligent storytelling and sensual escape. Why should us bookish girls, gays, and theys have to pick one?
What to expect:
Mondays: Story recommendations matched to your mood (ancient mythology? Elizabethan intrigue? Contemporary romance?)
Thursdays: Behind-the-scenes peeks at our voice actors, historical research, and the craft of audio storytelling
Occasional treats: Early access to new collections, literary discussions, and love letters to your favourite tropes
This isn't just another newsletter. It's a weekly retreat for folks who understand that the right story can inspire a vibe shift and inject magic into your entire week.
Your first gift: Next Monday, I'm sharing my personal collection of "Gateway Stories" - the 5 audio experiences that turn casual listeners into complete obsessives.
Hit reply and tell me: what's the last book that kept you up way too late? I read every response.
Welcome to the sanctuary,
Christine xoP.S. Want daily bookish inspiration? Follow @reverie.stories on Instagram.

VALUE DEMO & BEHIND THE SCENES
Subject line: Our narrators cast spells with their voices
Preview text: Just ask Sarah, who ditched Netflix after one storyBody:
Yesterday, I got an email that made us cry happy tears.
Sarah, a high school English teacher from Portland, wrote:
"I picked a 20-minute story about two women meeting in a 1920s speakeasy. When it ended, I realised I'd been holding my breath. I immediately canceled my Netflix subscription. Why waste time scrolling when I could be living these stories?"
This is why I obsess over every detail of our audio production.
What most people don't know:
Each 20-minute story takes 3 weeks to produce. We research historical details down to the fabric of clothing and actual period slang. Our voice actors rehearse not just lines, but breathing patterns. We layer soundscapes so subtle your brain processes them as memory, not audio effects.
The result? Stories that feel like experience, not performance.
Your Monday preview: I'm featuring "Library After Hours" - contemporary stories set in bookshops and libraries. Think: meet-cutes over the same book, whispered conversations in rare manuscript sections, chemistry building over shared literary obsessions.
Here's the thing about audio storytelling that reading can't replicate: when you close your eyes and listen, your brain fills in details that make the story uniquely yours.
Quick question: When you read romance, do you imagine yourself as the protagonist or watch the story unfold like a movie?
Hit reply - it affects how we craft experiences for you.
More bookish magic Monday,
Christine xo -
TRIAL OFFER & URGENCY
Subject: Your 30-day literary escape starts here
Preview text: Before we close signups this weekendBody:
Here's something I've learned about bookish girls, gays, and theys: we're excellent at adding books to our "want to read" list and terrible at actually reading them.
The same thing happens with self-care, right? Making time for things that actually bring us joy.
Over the past week, you've been part of our newsletter community. You've seen behind the curtain. You know our values.
But knowing about great stories and experiencing them are two different things.
Right now, I'm offering 30 days of complete access to our entire Reverie library - free. That's 200+ sensual audio stories across ancient Greece, Elizabethan courts, Victorian drawing rooms, 1920s speakeasies, and contemporary settings.
The catch? We're closing new trial signups this Sunday. Not as a marketing trick, but because onboarding new users properly takes time.
Three reasons to start today:
You deserve better than doom-scrolling. Replace 20 minutes of social media with being the heroine of your own fantasy.
Audio hits different. When you close your eyes and listen, you're not just reading about desire - you're experiencing it.
Community matters. Join those who've discovered that audio storytelling is a practice in prioritising your pleasure.
[Start your 30-day free trial]
The stories are waiting. The question is: are you ready to live them?

RE-ENGAGEMENT & ENHANCED OFFER
Subject: For those sweetly hesitating
Preview text: Some stories linger on the edge of memory...Body:
Hi [Name],
I haven't heard from you since Sunday, which means you're either lost wandering ancient temple corridors or you're still deciding.
If it's the latter, this is for you.
I know the hesitation of bookish souls. You research, deliberate, talk yourself out of desires before they bloom. But what if you trusted that first flutter of curiosity?
For you, patient dreamer:
45 days to wander our worlds instead of 30, plus "Academic Affairs" - stories where desire unfolds in hushed libraries and moonlit lecture halls.
Inside, worlds are breathing:
Bare feet on cool marble, shadows dancing in temple corners
Silk rustling as masked figures turn toward you in candlelit ballrooms
That electric moment when fingers brush over the same book spine
Emma from Bristol: "I almost didn't try Reverie because I worried it would feel strange. Now I listen each night instead of scrolling. It's like meditation, but with fire running through my veins."
[Claim your 45-day escape + bonus collection]
This invitation closes Thursday at midnight.
When you're ready, we'll be here.
With patient anticipation,
Christine xo

vögeln Copy strategy
The challenge: Website copy strategy for vögeln, a Berlin-based sexual health and intimacy brand offering personal lube for people with vulvas. The brand needed a website and copy strategy that would capture their bold vision: closing the gender gap in sexual health research while demanding uncompromised pleasure for all bodies. The challenge was not only to express their unapologetic ethos, but also to translate complex product and scientific information into content that felt clear, engaging, and user-friendly.
My approach: I partnered closely with the founder to understand both the brand’s philosophy and the science behind the product. My goal was to create website copy that blended evidence-based credibility with literary, approachable storytelling, so the site could educate without ever feeling clinical.
Key elements:
Translating complex sexual health research into language that feels warm, empowering, and accessible.
Maintaining a bold, unapologetic tone that reflects vögeln’s activist stance on pleasure and equality.
Clear, structured messaging hierarchy to guide users through product benefits, brand story, and values.
Inclusive, body-positive language that resonates across diverse audiences – particularly among gen z’s and millennials.
Collaborative process with the founder to ensure the voice felt authentic and aligned with her vision.
Results focus: The final website and copy strategy positioned vögeln as both credible and relatable – a brand that doesn’t shy away from taboo, but makes sexual health information inviting and easy to absorb. The digital presence communicates confidence, inclusivity, and innovation, ensuring that users not only understand the science but also feel emotionally connected to the brand’s mission

Anthropocene Curriclum UX strategy
The challenge: While working for HKW (House of World Cultures), a world-leading cultural centre in Berlin, Germany, our small editorial team was tasked with transforming 100+ complex academic case studies about climate change and local environmental practices into an accessible, interactive digital archive. Contributors included artists, scientists, academics, and activists from around the world, each presenting research in vastly different contexts and languages.
Approach: A comprehensive information architecture and content strategy that made dense academic material navigable and engaging. The solution centered around an innovative "research desk" metaphor – each case study appears as a table viewed from above, with draggable items that users can explore, examine, and dive deeper into.
Key elements:
UX copywriting: Wrote clear, accessible abstracts, metadata, and item descriptions for complex academic content – making research more searchable and approachable
Style guide development: Created consistent voice and tone guidelines that balanced academic rigour with accessibility
Interactive design collaboration: Worked with developers to create an intuitive drag-and-drop interface that encourages exploration
Accessibility focus: Ensured content was navigable for diverse audiences across disciplines and geographic contexts
Scalable system: Content architecture allowed case study materials to be repurposed in later in other digital publications
Impact delivered:
Transformed academic materials into an engaging and interactive digital experience
Created reusable content systems that extended the project's reach beyond the original 2020 event
Enabled interdisciplinary collaboration through clear, inclusive language
Built sustainable information architecture that supported multiple publication formats
Skills showcased: Content strategy, information architecture, UX writing, accessibility design, interdisciplinary communication, digital publication development. Distilling complex content into clear, engaging experiences.
